Kathryn Wishart
Occupational Therapy
I am an occupational therapist and practice owner of OT Kids at Hart. I work at Arden Academy, Flutterbys in Midrand, King David Sandton and my practice is based at Manor Medical Centre in Gallo Manor. I graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2014 and completed my community service year at Tara Psychiatric Hospital. I have a special interest in Ayres® Sensory Integration and am currently SIPT certified. I am a Level 1 Floortime Practioner, which I completed through the organization Profectum and I am a Tomatis® Level 1 Practioner. I am a very playful therapist and believe in child-directed therapy . I also really believe that it is so important to work holistically and understanding a child at home , school and within the therapeutic environment. I have a special interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder , Sensory Processing difficulties or issues and ADHD/ADD.
Bronwyn Hawtrey
Occupational Therapy
I am an occupational therapist predominantly based at Manor Medical Centre in Gallo Manor. I graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. I was the winner of the OTASA prize and am also a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. I completed my community service year working with both children and adults at the Sizwe Tropical disease hospital in Edenvale. I then started working at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital from 2017-2019 where I gained experience working with patients with neurological conditions as well as hand injuries. I also assisted with paediatric cases that involved hand injuries, burns and developmental delay. I am very passionate about working with children and really try to focus on using a child’s interests and strengths to guide my therapy.
Ashira
Speech, language and Feeding Therapy
Ashira owner and founder of Happy Kids Speech Therapy studied Speech Therapy and audiologist at The University of the Witswaterrand and completed her community service at Chris Hani Baragwaneth hospital. She has a deep love and devotion for paediatric communication, swallowing and feeding difficulties. Ashira has a keen interest in oral motor difficulties and feeding difficulties and has completed courses to assess and treat these difficulties. Gina
Speech Therapist
Gina has been a speech therapist at Happy Kids Speech Therapy for the past few years. She studied Speech Therapy and Audiology at The University of the Witwatersrand and completed her community service at Tshwane Rehabilitation Hospital. She went on to obtain her masters in Clinical Speech and Language from Trinity College Dublin. Gina has a special interest in oral motor difficulties, feeding and swallowing difficulties as well as literacy and communication challenges. She has completed the following courses: Introduction to PROMPT Makaton.
